Landscape of Urban Education Lecture Series

The Landscape of Urban Education Lecture Series is dedicated to the presentation of current ideas and strategies for navigating urban educational terrain in the United States. An annual lecture series since SOE’s centennial year, the speakers engaged for this series are well renowned scholars committed to revitalizing inclusive urban education. The school of Education invites all students, alumni, staff, faculty and friends in the community to experience these speakers.

Ganders Lecture Series

For 18 years, the Ganders Lecture Series has celebrated the legacy of Harry S. Ganders, the first dean of the School of Education. Gander’s tenure as dean (1930-1952) is characterized as one of transition, growth and innovation and saw the creation of an all-University structure for the School of Education. The series is generously supported by alumni and other contributions to the Harry S. and Elva K. Ganders Memorial Fund.

Schools of Promise

Schools of Promise is a partnership between Syracuse University School of Education and local school districts. This partnership aims to improve elementary schools for all students, especially students who have traditionally been marginalized, including students with disabilities, students learning English, students of color, and students from low income families.
